In what way is atheism a religion?

Only very religious people think we atheists have our own religion called Atheism. Some Christians even think that we atheists believe in God but hate him. And some other Christians think that we secretly believe in and worship Satan. As an atheist, I don't believe in either of the Christian gods -- the good one called God or the evil one called Satan.
