Help with credit rating please?

Credit has always been one of those weird ones, if you've not taken much before then you generally aren't seen as reliable (not because you're not, but because you've not proved that you are yet), building your credit rating can involve taking credit and paying it back. Frey is completely right in what they've said, I'd suggest opening a credit card account with the bank that you've got a debit card with at the moment as they'll know you and be most likely to give you one. Talk to the bank manager there about the best way of building up credit, but it may be a case of taking some time to open a card with them, spending money on the credit card and paying it back before you have to pay interest on it.
