LDS: Difference between "KEYS" and "Authority" of priesthood?

If there was heated debate, it sounds like the spirit wasn't there and men are floundering in their own thoughts rather than teach the doctrine. Much advise on here looks very good. Having the priesthood means you've been cleared as an authorized user of the authority, having the key extended for a specific act means you're legally authorized to employ the power under the spirit's direction.
