As a gay person involved in business and public life, how do you manage questions about that?
This not about being closeted or ashamed, but if your trying to forward a project that requires financing and must appear in public venues your marital status and family life do get scrutinized? If activism and / or ual preference is really not relevant to your ideas or actions how does one address this with out being dishonest or forced to go into details? Straight people can flaunt their wives or husbands and use that as an advantage to their biography. Gay people can get penalized for either being to tacit, or not being roped into a political agenda about LGBT issues like gay marriage etc? Is it possible to be cly and self protective? Particularly in a conservative state where some people acknowledge humane rights to some degree but then pigeon hole gay people while they are trying to get their businesses off of the ground? Is there a good standard approach to speak about one's private life?
