PS3 is not recognizing music files??? help please?

I had the Playstation search for media servers so it's connected to Windows Media Player the only problem it is that it only recognized the default songs that were already installed on the player but its not even bringing up any of my other songs I downloaded onto WMP library. I even made a playlist and stuck a few songs on there but when I pull it up on the playstation it says the file is empty.
