What are your reviews on the psychiatric drug Lamictal? ?

I am currently taking Wellbutrin for my depression and my doctor wants to put me on Lamictal in conjunction with my Wellbutrin for my irritability and mood swings. However, I am worried with some of the side effects. On one hand I hear that it's a miricle drug and the other we have side effects such as weight gain, insomnia, memory problems, hair loss and a deadly rash. I don't need to gain any weight and if I lose any more memory I will be diagnosed with Alzheimers. So, pros and cons please.
